Tied Together
Spec work created for The Globe and Mail 2026 Young Lions Competition
Art Director: Jan Benavente
The Challenge:
When ecosystems collapse, human systems eventually feel it too. It's not just a moral connection. It's an ecological, economic, and social reality.
The Big Idea:
"Tied Together" sits at the heart of Dr. Jane Goodall's philosophy: you cannot protect wildlife without supporting the people who live alongside it.
Humans are part of nature, and our human nature compels us to protect it. Our double-page spread transforms a daunting problem into a shared opportunity, showing that human and wildlife well-being are inextricably linked. Protecting the planet isn't a distant or abstract task. It's personal because caring for the world around us is also caring for ourselves. The knot that binds us is already tied. Every action makes it stronger.
Our idea is designed to flex across formats. From social media carousels to motion digital banners and interactive OOH, the campaign shows up wherever our audience is.

How It Works:
Opening the pages reveals a single thread of fate. When fully spread, the knot pulls tight, binding people and wildlife, action and hope.
